US Embassy Pakistan-Funded Virtual Exchange

Application Deadline: December 4, 2019

Global Ties U.S., a DC-based non-profit, was recently awarded funding by the US Embassy in Pakistan to develop and implement a virtual exchange that brings together Pakistani and American high school students. The aim of this program is to help participating students develop relationships and increase knowledge about each other’s cultures. The program consists of a 3-month Project-Based Learning curriculum through which teams of Pakistani and American students create interventions designed to transform specific cross-cultural conflicts in their communities. The students create short videos and presentations, which will be evaluated by a panel of conflict resolution experts. The leading Pakistani team will then travel to the US for a two-week face-to-face exchange, ideally meeting their American counterparts. Global Ties is seeking 3-4 high school social studies/world culture teachers in the DC-area, with groups of at least eight students, who would be interested in participating in this very special virtual exchange.
