Fulbright Japan announces the 2017 Japan-US Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), a unique short-term exchange designed to raise awareness of ESD-oriented school programs, enhance ESD-related curricula, and deepen a sense of global interconnectedness. A total of 12 Japanese and 12 US educators will be selected for this fully funded program. The Japanese delegation will travel to the US in late April; US educators will travel to Japan in late June. At the end of the program in each country, all participating teachers will gather for a few days of joint collaboration. The Japan program includes a home stay with a Japanese family, visits to ESD-focused schools, and cultural and educational activities. Applicants must be full-time K-12 teachers or administrators, and US citizens. Participants are required to develop ESD curriculum as follow up.
