Teachers of Critical Languages Program seeks high school volunteers

Dates: August 7 and 8, 2023, 8:00 am-12:00 noon
Location: Washington Latin Public Charter School, 5200 2nd Street, NW
Application Deadline: July 24, 2023

The Teachers of Critical Languages Program, administered by American Councils for International Education, is looking for enthusiastic high school students to help prepare incoming international exchange teachers.

On Monday, August 7, student volunteers will be part of a discussion, where teachers from China, Egypt, and Morocco have the opportunity to ask questions about what school is like in the US. Afterwards, students will participate in a model language class where they will be introduced to basic Arabic and Chinese language skills (no prior experience in these languages is required).

On Tuesday, August 8, students will get to experience multiple short lessons where the new teachers will be teaching and asking for feedback on the lessons.

Students can earn community service hours for participation. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Interested students should fill out the following survey HERE.
