Table for Two – Onigiri Action

Program Dates: October 5 – November 5, 2021

TABLE FOR TWO (TFT), a global nonprofit with roots in Japan, addresses the related issues of hunger and obesity through a unique “meal-sharing” program that connects healthy eating with food donations to children in need. This fall, Table For Two will once again sponsor Onigiri Action, its World Food Day campaign. Schools are encouraged to take part in this fun, educational, and yummy service activity, featuring the popular Japanese food “onigiri” (rice balls). Students make, decorate, and eat rice balls, and then post pictures of their onigiri creations and enjoyment on the TFT website. Each onigiri photo post brings 5 donated school meals to children in need! This is a great classroom or school-wide activity that integrates health, culture, art, and community service.
