Mentors for Youth Ambassadors Program to Colombia

Partners of the Americas, through a program funded by the US State Department, is seeking adult mentor applicants to participate in its summer 2017 Youth Ambassadors Program to Colombia. This program for US high school students takes place in Washington, DC and Colombia for four weeks during July. It is designed to develop a sense of civic responsibility and commitment to community among participants, builds leadership capacity, and fosters relationships among youth participants from different ethnic, religious and national groups. Mentors are responsible for accompanying and guiding youth through their summer experience and for being an active participant before, during and after the exchange. Applicants must be teachers or community leaders, at least 21 years of age, with extensive experience working with youth; have experience traveling abroad; Spanish proficiency; and must be US citizens. Partners of the Americas pays all expenses related to mentor participation.
