Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP)

Program Dates: July 14-August 12, 2018
Application Deadline: January 31, 2018

The Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP) is a US-based exchange program, fully funded by the US State Department, for talented Iraqi and U.S. students who demonstrate leadership potential and civic engagement in their communities. IYLEP will select ten (10) US students to join their Iraqi counterparts in a four-week program aiming to develop leadership and peacebuilding skills, to foster relationships among youth from different backgrounds, and to promote mutual understanding between the people of Iraq and the US. Through teambuilding activities, dialogue, workshops, living in dorms and with host families, and meeting teenagers from all over the U.S. and Iraq, participants will gain skills needed for their future education and professional goals. This is an amazing opportunity. The program takes place in Vermont, Washington, DC, and various host cities across the United States. Applicants must be US citizens, 15-17 years old on July 1, 2018, and have a graduation year of 2019 or later.
