Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program

Travel Dates: Summer 2018
Application Deadline: February 2, 2018

The Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Program, funded through the US Department of Education, offers short-term international summer programs for US educators in the social sciences and humanities to improve their understanding and knowledge of the peoples and cultures of other countries. All programs include lectures and educational activities; visits to local schools and organizations; meetings with educators and students; and visits to cultural sites. Participants create cross-cultural curricula for their schools back in the US. Two summer programs are offered in 2018 to K-12 educators – to India (for K-8 teachers) and to Ecuador (for 9-12 teachers). The program covers airfare, lodging, and program costs; participants pay a $600 cost share. The program is open to U.S. K-12 educators, administrators, and media resource specialists who have responsibility for curriculum and instruction in the social sciences, humanities, foreign languages and area studies. Applicants must be US citizens with at least 3 years of full-time experience in their field.
