Since 2008, Globalize DC (formerly CGEL) has partnered with APSA to provide a high quality summer study abroad in Beijing for DC public school students selected through a citywide competitive process. The APSA China Scholars Program is a challenging and transformative study abroad experience that focuses on intensive Chinese language study, cultural understanding, leadership development, and exposure to international careers. This year APSA is moving to a fee-based model, but partial scholarships are available. The application process for these scholarships is now open. Scholarship applicants must be 15-17 years of age, demonstrate some financial need, have a strong academic record and community involvement. Prior Chinese language study is not required.
